Privacy at a glance
We read
We read: the list of apps installed on your phone, the permissions those apps have, a handful of system settings, and your network connection status. If an app looks suspicious, we also pull a copy of that app's file so our team can examine it directly. If you choose to share a diagnostic report, we read that too.
We never touch
We never touch: messages, photos, contacts, call logs, browsing history, personal files, or passwords. That list stays short on purpose.
How it travels
How it travels: everything is encrypted on your phone before it ever leaves.
How long we keep it
How long we keep it: raw files are stored in AWS Mumbai for 4 days, then permanently deleted. You can export your data or delete your account at any time — you don't have to wait for us.
By using DeTechtive, you agree to the following terms of service and privacy policy.
Data we collect
To assess your device's security posture, DeTechtive collects: device metadata; the list of installed applications and their declared and runtime permissions; system and security-relevant settings; network connection status; device health signals (such as storage and OS patch level); and, for applications flagged as suspicious during scanning, a copy of the application binary for further analysis. If you initiate a diagnostic report through the app, that report is also collected. This data is used exclusively to detect and analyze potential security threats on your device.
Data we do not collect
DeTechtive does not access, read, or store personal messages, photographs, contact lists, call logs, browsing history, personal files, or stored passwords.
Encryption and transmission
All collected data is encrypted on your device before transmission to our servers.
Storage and retention
Data is stored in AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1). Raw scan data is automatically and permanently deleted after 4 days. You may request early deletion or export a copy of your data at any time through your account settings.
Analysis by our team
Flagged application files may be reviewed by our security team to confirm whether a threat is genuine. This review is limited to the flagged file itself and does not extend to other data on your device.
Your rights
You may export your data or delete your account at any time. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
Changes to these terms
DeTechtive may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification, and continued use of the app after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
